Spa Culture in Europe (conference)

Organising Committee of the conference Fri "Spa culture in Europe" invites you to participate in its deliberations. The conference will be held on 19 - 20 May 2011 at the Hotel Duszniki "Rowan" Street. Polish Army 47th

cognitive aim of the conference is the subject of systematic reflection of historical, anthropological and cultural studies the genesis and development of specific forms of treatment that take place outside the patient's place of permanent residence in a specially created environment, and using therapeutic treatments tailored not only to the medical standard, but also to the cultural expectations of patients. Welcome to the preparation of papers devoted to the following problems:

• genesis of the spa culture in Europe and its context are located in the ancient civilizations (Greek, Roman),
• evolution of the ancient culture of the spa under the influence of Christianity
• spa culture in modern times,
• genesis of the revitalization spa culture in the eighteenth century in the context of the new stndardu clinical medicine,
• spa culture in Europe nineteenth century, and its reference to the clinical, epidemiological situation (an epidemic of tuberculosis) and the progress of medical knowledge (bacteriology),
• uzdrowsikowa culture in Europe during World War I and rehabilitation of veterans,
• spa culture in the years 1919-1939 and its economic context, political and social,
• psychoanalysis, depth psychology and other methods of psychological therapy and their development in the context of the spa culture,
• culture Spa in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe - an egalitarian model of state medical care and its impact on the operation of spas,
• spa culture in an affluent society in 1945 - a wellness centers, spa and other models linking prevention, recreation and treatment,
• spa culture in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe after the transformed political,
• prospects spa culture in the twenty-first century

Please prepare papers with a volume of 6 pages of transcript (time delivering up to 20 minutes) and texts of articles for print volumes from 15 to 30 typewritten pages. Deadline for submission of articles for print expires on 30 June 2011

conference fee of 200 zł please pay to that given in the second downhill Communication Foundation account Humanitas et scientia. The fee would be earmarked for room rental and financing costs of printing the book's publication. Materials from the conference (in expanded form and having received positive reviews from publications) will appear in a monograph edited by Bozena Płonki-Syroki and Agnes Kazmierczak
