"So aside all malice and all the betrayal, and hypocrisy, and envy," ; 1 Peter 2
Maybe someone will ask, "but God is a jealous God, why can not we be jealous?" This is a legitimate question. When God reveals himself as a jealous God, this idea is that God wants the glory that belongs to him, but is given to someone or something else. God is the creator and we should love Him and praise. When we love other things more than God, God is jealous of what belongs to him. So jealous God is fair. God only wants what belongs to him.
What belongs to us?
There is a basic fact that we need to understand if we want to understand Christianity if we are to understand God and his action. it is difficult to accept. The fact is that what belongs to us is an eternal punishment in hell, and nothing more. This is a very unpleasant fact. Our whole race is that we love darkness and hate light. born with a heart that wants to sin. Not one of us who seeks God. We all zboczyliĆmy of the way of justice. Not one of us, who does well. the human heart flows the love for himself. comes out pride, selfishness leaves, stems hatred, comes a lie. Any person who is a child of Adam, was born with rebellion in his heart.
Every person who ever lived in this world deserves hell and nothing more. I do not like to talk about it. But we have to talk about it. Yes like a doctor who has an unpleasant responsibility to tell people very bad news about their health. Likewise Christians must speak the unpleasant news of the sinfulness of humanity and the consequences of sin.
if I get what I deserved, I get an eternity in hell. Never be so naive as to pray, "Lord, give me what is mine." We do not want what belongs to us. We do not want divine justice, we want mercy. We grace.
Hell exists. is worse than you can imagine. Each of us deserved to be in hell. not only each of us, but every person who ever lived, should be punished for their sins in hell.
Now on the bestseller list in the U.S., the number fifth, is a book that God will save all people and no one will be forever in hell. The book has the title "Love wins," I do not doubt that in a few weeks is now available in Polish. author of this book, Rob Bell, a pastor in Michigan (the state from which I come from) and it comes to his congregation of over 10,000 people every Sunday and more than 50,000 people listen to his sermons every week for itunes. Apparently thousands of people are willing to listen to a god who does not punish people in hell.
But the Bible tells a different story. What is in the Bible is much more terrible than the teaching of Rob Bell, and people need us to tell them the truth and not fairy tales.
What does this have to do with jealousy? Everything. I am delicious. I feel I'm better than others. From my heart comes to sinful desires, and sometimes consciously in rebellion against God who lives, I do what God hates. Deserve eternal punishment.
But God does not give me that which belongs to me. Instead hell God gives me new life. God declared, "You are holy." The Holy Spirit has picked me to a new life. God has accepted me and called me son. My new father knows that I am not able to be obedient to him, so changed my heart, I want to go after him. God gave me the abilities that I can use to serve him. greatest gift that God gave me this himself. God cleansed me from sin, He could have a community with me. These other actions of God in my life serve to nothing separated me from God. greatest gift given to me full of grace is God himself.
When I think about what belongs to me but about what God has given me, When I will focus on this, jealousy disappears.
Problems begin when we look at how God works in people's lives around us. When we look at what others got from God.
